Police officers from Philadelphia and surrounding communities gathered last Thursday at Fraternal Order of Police Lodge 5 for the annual FOP Survivors Easter Breakfast.
The FOP honored about 40 families who have had family members killed in the line of duty. There was a hot breakfast, juice, doughnuts, pastries, muffins and fruit.
Families of the fallen heroes were given flowers, an Easter basket filled with a ham and other items and a tray of cookies and other goodies.
“We never forget our fallen heroes,” said John McNesby, FOP president. “Holidays and birthdays are always tough times for the families of our fallen comrades. And this breakfast is one way to show our continued support.”
McNesby was joined by First Deputy Police Commissioner Myron Patterson and attorney Jimmy Binns, a staunch supporter of police officers. ••
